The Institute of Fiscal Studies exercises the functions of selection and training assigned by its Statutes:
Through the Training Division of Public Finance the content is developed for training civil servants and other staff in matters specific to Inland Revenue, including techniques of financial and tax management and administration, budgeting and public spending, drawing up the appropriate long and medium term training programmes in agreement with the executive bodies of the Departments according to their needs.
At the same time, the Institute organises voluntary training programmes for the State Administration as a whole and for other administrative spheres, participating actively in ongoing training programmes developed annually for the Institute’s own staff.
The training activities included each year in specific plans are programmed in close collaboration with the different centres, after the training needs of each job have been detected and assessed.
These activities are articulated by sessions or intensive courses which are regularly taught to different professional groups, supported by teaching materials.
The following Ongoing Training plans are run each year:
In the framework of the Ongoing Training Agreements held between the unions and the Public Administration, a range of training activities have been developed which continues to expand each year, with a strong emphasis on support for internal promotion.
The activities of this Training Plan were designed by the State Tax Administration Agency, the Institute of Fiscal Studies and the rest of the management centres of the Ministry of the Economy.
They usually consist of instrumental materials such as computer use, languages, accounting, workplace risk prevention, management skills, etc, and also focus on preparing civil servants for access to other departments of the Ministry of the Economy.
The Institute of Fiscal Studies carries out training in person and through its virtual Campus.
