Research activity

The Institute of Fiscal Studies (IEF) has an important role as a centre of research in matters relating to public income and spending, and their impact on the economic and social system, subjects which are assigned it in its Statutes. But the IEF is also assigned the function of economic consultant to the State Secretariat for Taxation and Budgeting in these matters.
