Structure and Holdings

The Library's holdings comprise some hundred thousand monographic works and more than a thousand periodicals, about a quarter of which have active subscriptions. Its holdings also include constantly updated publications, an ever-increasing collection of materials in electronic format and a very valuable collection of antique books.

The Library comprises various collections:

• The Institute of Fiscal Studies Collection, which also includes the publications of the IEF
• The library holdings of the Inland Revenue School, for use by its students
• The holdings for the needs of students at the UNED Associated Centre, with a base in this body
• In 1995 the “Sainz de Bujanda” collection was added, comprising the holdings of his personal library

The Catalogue of the IEF Library, as well as the description of the monographic works, periodicals and other materials, contains clips from articles from the journals in the library. Thos published by the Institute of Fiscal Studies are clipped in their entirety, and are of great interest to students and researchers. This facilitates searches by subject.
